Site Layout and Access
Lidl’s proposed development involves the construction of a new single-storey building that will provide 2,177m2 gross internal floor space with a net sales area of 1,411m2. The proposed development will provide 128 free parking bays, including Electric Charging Points, Disabled, Motorcycle and Parent & Child spaces that will be sited at the front and side of the store.
Vehicle access/egress to the site will be directly off Aldermaston Road. There will also be the provision of a new right-hand turn lane for the scheme.
The site is well placed to encourage access by sustainable modes of transport, being within walking distance of housing to the west and south, and accessible by public transport via bus stops located on both Aldermaston Road and Silchester Road. Customer cycle parking will also be provided to encourage shoppers to visit the store by bicycle.
The store’s car parking spaces are arranged in a manner so that it will be safe and easy for customers to manoeuvre around the car park, with the disabled and parent and child parking located close to the store entrance.
The new store will be located on the edge of Tadley District Centre which will enable linked shopping trips with other shops and services in the centre.
